Querying Records

Using the Data Form we can set certain criteria for the records that we wish to be displayed in the form.

Any record meeting the criteria will be displayed in the form as we move through the database.

Those that do not meet the criteria will not be displayed.

For example if we wished to only view the records that deal with the Boags brewery then the following could be used.

Exercise

[] Open the Data Form, if it was not already open.

[] Click on the Criteria button.

[] Enter, in the producer field, the name of the producer whose records you wish to see.
In this case enter Boags, case is not important.

[] When the criteria is entered click on the Find Next button and the next record that meets the criteria will be displayed.

Clicking on Find Next and Find Previous allows you to scroll through the records that meet the criteria.

[] Clear the criteria by clicking on Criteria again followed by Clear.

[] Close the Data Form.
