Sorting The Database

One of the main uses of a database is to sort the data into some sort of order.

Excel is able to sort the database on up to three fields although in our example we will only use two.

We will sort our database on the field PRODUCER and also on the COST field.

Exercise

[] Open the DATA menu and select SORT.

The following dialog box is presented:

[] Ensure that the field names in the previous diagram are entered.

[] Click on DESCENDING for the second key.

[] Click OK to apply the sort to the database range selected.

Your database should now look like this:
