The advantages of this facility are :

- It cuts down on the amount of typing required.

- It allows us to write programs that automate and customize Excel.

Macros can be any set of keystrokes, text or series of Excel commands.

You can run any command macro by using the TOOLS MACRO command or by pressing a short cut key if one has been defined for the macro.

You can assign macros to buttons or other graphic objects you place on your worksheets.

A macro in Excel can be created either by running the Macro Recorder or by typing actual commands into the built-in Visual Basic Editor.

Both methods end up with the same result as the Macro Recorder puts the commands into a Module for you.
