In addition to buttons, several other Windows features are available such as radio buttons, spinners, check boxes etc.
These features can be added via the Forms toolbar.
Lets add that toolbar to the screen;
From the Menu select
View Toolbars
now check the Forms Toolbar option and press OK
You should now have a toolbar similiar to the following.
We will add a Scroll Bar to a simple application, a temperature conversion worksheet.
Select the Scroll bar button and drag out an area from A1 to D2.
Double click your new scroll bar to bring up the Format object Dialog box.
In the Cell Link box enter B3 and press Ok.
Deselect the Scroll bar by Clicking elsewhere on your worksheet.
Now try clicking in the scroll bar and note the effect in cell B3.
Changes in the position of the scroll bar are linked to the contents of B3.
This link works both ways.
Try typing a number between 0 and 100 in B3 and observe the effect on the scroll bar.
To finish off this exercise
In A3 enter Celsius.
In A5 enter Fahrenheit
In B5 enter the formula =B3*9/5+32
Now we have built a temperature converter that can be run by sliding the Scroll bar along or entering a value in cell B3.
