Creating Movies - an Overview

When developing with Flash you save its files with a .fla extension.
Fla files contain all the assets, sounds, images etc, which make up the movie.
To edit a flash movie you need to have access to the .fla file
The Torri's gate example has the .fla file and all the assets for you to experiment with.

The .fla files are compressed into the Movie file which have an .swf extension.

Flash movies can be run in several different ways

Flash movies can be played by

• turning the swf file into a Projector File which are self executing.
• calling a player program and loading the SWF movie file.
• embedding them into an html file and using a web browser.

Although Flash movies can be used outside Web browsers we will concentrate on Flash on Web Pages.

1. A self executing Projector file - flash\demos\millions\milliona.exe

2. Using the Flash Player (SwFlsh32.exe) to run a Flash movie file
